DanceC0mm4nderAn novella that was more neat tattoo ideas than horrorI wasn't familiar with Mr. Cooley's work before I had stumbled upon this novella. It's an interesting novella in that the narration seems so relaxed and calm. I had thought the narrator Mr. Coolie ate something that soothed his stomach before he had started speaking. Ah. As for the writing, I am not familiar with the world of tattoo artistry. But I had wondered how many artists could pull off giving someone an intricate tattoo for 40 bucks. Despite my own bit of confusion on that plot point, I had enjoyed the novella. It has some tattoo descriptions that were evocative and the ending did make me a bit nauseated. I think this podiobook is worth a listen to if you want to hear some ornate tattoo ideas. Thank you Paul Elard Cooley for this free novella!

1.8trackDo more research on the industryThis is really hard to listen to, the writer obviously knows very little about the tattoo industry. I've listened to the first 45 mins and I can't listen anymore.

radlilimA nice short listenIt's short, novella length I'd guess, only six episodes. But it did what it needed to do for a complete story. Some of the characters are a bit one dimensional and he seems kinda fixated on peeing one’s self and dicks. But it was a cool look into the tattoo culture-or at least a very dark take on it. It ended well, but kept the world open for more. I see that he also has a short fiction podcast, and it sounds like those stories will have a similar feel. I’m not subscribing to that yet, as I have plenty of short story podcasts right now that I can’t keep up with. But if I run out it’s on my list.

kjones00Worth a listenOverall a good story, but not great. The characters are interesting and the plot in this novella moves right along. Its hardly edge of your seat material, but also will keep you interested. Unfortunately, you can see the ending coming almost from the get-go, and when it does arrive it doesn't "wrap up" the story that well. Loud and clear voice, steady volume, no annoying advertisements or "recaps" to skip. Six episodes of 15-25 minutes each, easily finished in one sitting.

CJ_Great premise!Really enjoyed the idea behind this story. Reminiscent of 'Silence of the Lambs' except without any good guys. Very rich character details and development with a great cliffhanger. A few stammers should probably have been cleaned up in the audio production, but considering this was one of the first novellas completed by this author, it's a stellar effort. I love forward to the continuation of this story!

Pons MatalAwesomely creepy and eerie storyHaving listened to Tattoo, and as I am one of the "tattoo community", I found it to be a very creepy as well as very good story. As for the review left by Whitney Hanson. Whitney, Its because you didnt make it through the first chapter that you did not get the whole picture of the the story line behind Tattoo. Whitney you yourself said, "Most shops" not "all shops" so give the author credit for using some creative leeway in creating the characters and places in his story. As a sidenote, I have actually talked with the author and I do know he did quite a bit of research before he began writing Tattoo.

Whitney HansonAbsolutely terribleThe reason this is an awful story, is that it is another typical defamatory representation of the tattoo community. I'm tired of seeing the only characters in the industry being shown as drug-abusing, trashy, uneducated, and HERE, SHIRTLESS people. The author clearly did not do his research properly. Most shops nowadays are clean, professional and definately tobacco and drug-free! Does he KNOW any tattoo artists or collectors?! I couldn't even make it through the first chapter. Ugh!

ShadowcastAudioLoved itThis one will make you think twice about defacing your body. But if you are going to, you might want to make sure no one else wants your ink.

Damon0125Wow, my Daffy Duck Tattoo seems pretty lame by comparison . . .Loss, desire, envy, and determination are all potrayed in maniacal and disturbonig fashion (I WOULD add "hope" and "redemption " . . . but this is NOT a Disney audiobook. Did you not read the part about Shadow Publications: "We don't believe in happy endings"?) If you are looking for a shoot 'em up, go for broke adventure novella . . .you have come to the wrong place. If you like your stories to be CHARACTER driven . . . and more about WHY people do what they do, rather than WHAT they do . . . you have come to the right place. You might ask yourself "WHY!" at the end of the pocast series . . .but the question will be rhetorical. You will know EXACTLY why . . . it's just that you will be uncomfortable with the answers to your own questions. . . .

suckapleaseTattoo is a compelling fun creepy jauntI love the fiendmaster intros and the voice work of Andrew as Nigel. This story traces a reporter trying to find serial killer that collects art for a very freaky reason that I don't want to spoil for you. After each episode you really can't wait to get into the next chapter to see how it is going to develop. Tattoo is worth your time as an intro into the twisted mind of Mr. Cooley - once you've heard Tattoo go check out Canvas to see the universe that he is creating.
